How to play Crossword Chaos with a friend

3Solve clues on the shared gridTap a clue, type the answer. A right answer claims that word for you.

One grid, and a solved clue is gone
Both players solve the same grid at the same time. When one of you solves a clue, the word is claimed: it scores for that player and locks, so the other cannot take it too.
That changes how you play. A long answer is worth more — 10 points per letter — but the short ones are quick to claim and give you crossing letters. Every second you spend on a hard clue is a second your rival can spend taking an easy one.
Together: the same grid as a team
Pick Together in Play Live and you share the grid instead of racing for it. Every clue either of you solves counts for both of you, so the job is to split the grid, not to beat each other.
Three things that actually help
Take the short clues first. They are fast points and give you letters for the long ones.
Do not stay on one stuck clue. If your rival solves it first, the time is gone and so are the points.
In Together, split the grid: one of you takes across, the other takes down.
