How to play Know Me with a friend
- Pick a packClassic, Couples or Friends. You both get questions from it.
- Answer about youFive quick questions about yourself. Only you see your answers.
- Guess about themThen guess how your friend answered about themselves. Their answers stay hidden until the end.
- The big revealThe answers flip over side by side. One point for each right guess, and most points wins.
The reveal is the game
Most quizzes test what you know about the world. This one tests what you know about one person, which makes the score almost beside the point.
The moment that matters is the flip: your guess next to their real answer. When they match, it's smug. When they don't, it's a conversation — "you'd really pick that?" — and that conversation is what people come back for.
The guess is about how they answered, not about what is true. If they think they're a morning person, the right guess is morning, whatever you've seen at 7am.
Why Know Me doesn't touch your rating
Every other competitive game here moves a Glicko-2 rating. Know Me has a winner, but it is deliberately unrated: the result counts, and the rating never moves.
Knowing someone well isn't a skill anyone should be ranked on. And an honest answer is the whole point — nobody should shade the truth about themselves to protect a number.
Live, a turn at a time, one phone or in Messages
Live, you both play at once and reach the reveal together.
A move at a time, you answer now and they guess later, whenever they open the app. The reveal waits for both of you.
On one phone, you pass it across: they guess your answers, then answer five of their own. On an iPhone, Know Me also plays inside Messages.
Three things that actually help
- Answer about yourself honestly, not tactically. There's no rating to protect, and the reveal is only fun if it's true.
- When you guess, think about what they'd say, not what you think is true. You're guessing their answer.
- Pick the pack that fits: Couples for a partner, Friends for a mate, Classic for anyone, parents included.
Know Me questions
Is Know Me a couples game?+
It works well for couples, and there is a Couples pack. There is also a Friends pack and a Classic pack, which suits anyone — a sibling, a parent, an old friend.
Does Know Me affect my rating?+
No. It has a winner, but it is unrated on purpose: the result counts and your rating never moves.
Can my friend see my answers before they guess?+
No. Your answers stay hidden until the reveal, and theirs stay hidden from you. Both sets flip over side by side at the end.
