Every word you find is a punch
How to play Word Brawl with a friend
- Trace a wordSwipe through letters that touch — across, down or diagonally. Let go to throw it.
- Land the hitYour fighter hits theirs straight away. Longer words do more damage.
- Chain themThree words inside five seconds is a combo and hits harder.
- Finish itWhen their health is nearly gone, one word glows on your grid. Find it for the finishing move.
- Win two roundsKnock them out or lead at the bell. First to two rounds wins the match.
Long words or fast words?
A five-letter word is an uppercut worth nearly three jabs. But three quick jabs inside five seconds is a combo, and combos hit harder. The best players mix both: a burst of short words while they hunt for the long one.
Speed has a second edge. You both play the same grid, so a word your rival already found is blocked when you play it. Grab the obvious ones first.
Action words do what they say
SLAP is a slap. ZAP is an energy blast. BURP is exactly what you think. Action words like KICK, BITE, FLOP and PUNCH play their own move and do extra damage, so it pays to look for them in every grid.
Typos have consequences
Trace something that is not a word and your fighter trips on their face. It costs you no health, just time — and dignity, in front of a live audience of one.
Three things that actually help
- Look for common endings first: -ER, -ED, -ING and plural S turn one word into two.
- Short words still count. A fast jab keeps your combo alive while you look for the big one.
- When the finishing word lights up, stop everything else and find it.
Word Brawl questions
Is it like Word Hunt?+
The grid is: four by four, trace touching letters. The difference is that you and your rival play the same grid at the same moment, and every word you find lands as a hit on their fighter.
Does my friend need to be online?+
Yes — it is a live fight. Invite them, share a link, or quick-match someone who is online. You can also warm up against a bot, offline.
Can I turn the blood off?+
Yes. Tap the BLOOD switch in the corner of the arena. It is cartoon blood either way.
