🀝 settle it, once and for all

Games to play with your best friend

Short answer
Duelo is a two-player games app for you and one friend. 18 games, from word races to four in a row to a quiz about each other, each played against the person you pick, live or a turn at a time. Every result adds to a head-to-head record between the two of you that never resets. Free on iPhone and Android, and the two play each other.

Settle who is better, once and for all

Every friendship has an unsettled question: who is better with words, who is better at board games, who knows more useless facts. Each one is a game here, and each game keeps its own record between you, so β€œI am better at word games” becomes a number one of you has to live with.

How well do you know each other?

Know Me is the quiz best friends always end up playing. You each answer five questions about yourself, with four options each, then guess the other's answers. In the group chat, are you always typing, a silent reader, the meme sender or the voice note sender? By pure guessing, a stranger gets one or two of five right. Three right means they know you.

When you are never free at the same time

Best friends grow up and move away, start different jobs, live in different time zones. 9 of the games work without you both being online: you play the puzzle now, your friend plays the same one tonight, and the record moves. A rivalry that only works when you are both free does not last; one that waits for you does.

Why waiting games keep friends playing β†’

A night of it

Nobody plays one game. In 3,198 real games between two people, three sittings in four went past the first game, and pairs who played four or more on their first night came back about twice as often. Short rounds, a mix of games, and the loser picks the next one.

Duelo, in plain facts

  • iPhone and Android, and the two play each other: an iPhone player and an Android player share one board.
  • 18 games in one app: word games, board games, trivia, a drawing game, party games and a co-op game.
  • 9 of them work when the other person is asleep: you play, they answer whenever they next open the app.
  • PIVOT! is co-op: one end of the sofa each, both of you on the same side.
  • On iPhone, 16 of the games also play inside iMessage.
  • No strangers, no bots, no matchmaking queue. Every opponent is a person you invited.
  • Six games free, no ads, no subscription. One payment unlocks the rest; it cannot buy a win.

  • Made by a one-person studio in London. Last updated October 2026.

Questions

What games can I play with my best friend online?+

Duelo has 18 two-player games to play against one friend you pick: word search and word-grouping races, a five-letter word race, a word fight, four in a row, a hidden-ship hunt, dots and boxes, mancala, a trivia duel, a drawing game, hot potato, a hidden minefield and a quiz about each other. Every result adds to one head-to-head record between you.

Is there a game that tests how well my friend knows me?+

Know Me. You each answer five questions about yourself with four options each, guess the other's answers, then reveal all ten together. It has a Friends pack of 170 questions, and it remembers which ones you have already played. By pure guessing, a stranger gets 1 or 2 of 5 right.

Can we play if we are never online at the same time?+

Yes, 9 of the games work that way. You play your side, your friend plays the same puzzle whenever they next open the app, and the record updates. The board games can also go a move at a time.

Does it work between an iPhone and an Android phone?+

Yes. The two apps play each other on one shared board, and every game is on both stores.

Is it free?+

There are no ads and no subscription. Six games are free: Word Chaser, Word Brawl, Fleet Hunt, Four in a Row, PIVOT! and Know Me. One payment unlocks the rest, and joining a game your friend invites you to is always free.
