📱 one iPhone, one Android

GamePigeon alternatives that work on iPhone and Android (2026)

Short answer
GamePigeon runs only inside iMessage, so a friend on Android cannot play. Apps that work on both phones: Duelo (18 two-player games against one friend, no ads), Plato (a group chat with 50+ games), Nadda (quick live 1v1 games, also in a browser), Words With Friends and Chess.com (one classic game each), and Couplescade (browser games, nothing to install on iPhone).

The apps, side by side

The usual problem: a group chat with one Android in it. GamePigeon cannot reach that friend. Every app below except GamePigeon is on both stores or in a browser.

We make Duelo, so we list it first. Every other row is a real app we checked on 28 October 2026, and each one gets the thing it does best.

Which one to pick

  • Many quick games against one friend, iPhone and Android: Duelo
  • A whole friend group in one chat: Plato
  • Live 1v1 in a browser, nothing to install: Nadda or Couplescade
  • One classic word game, a move a day: Words With Friends
  • Chess: Chess.com
  • Two phones on the same table: DUAL!
  • Everyone has an iPhone and you want to stay in iMessage: GamePigeon is still the simplest

Left out: Little Rivals (not released yet), Bunch (now MiniParty, with no current Android listing we could find) and Nudge (a web app with no store listing).

How we checked

On 28 October 2026we read each app’s App Store and Google Play listing and its own website. “Ads: Yes” means Google Play labels the app “Contains ads” or the developer says so. “Not stated” means we could not find the fact from the developer, so we did not guess. Prices are US prices and can change. If a row is wrong, email support@keedastudios.com and we fix it.

Duelo, in plain facts

  • iPhone and Android, and the two play each other: an iPhone player and an Android player share one board.
  • 18 games in one app: word games, board games, trivia, a drawing game, party games and a co-op game.
  • 9 of them work when the other person is asleep: you play, they answer whenever they next open the app.
  • PIVOT! is co-op: one end of the sofa each, both of you on the same side.
  • On iPhone, 16 of the games also play inside iMessage.
  • No strangers, no bots, no matchmaking queue. Every opponent is a person you invited.
  • Six games free, no ads, no subscription. One payment unlocks the rest; it cannot buy a win.
  • A permanent head-to-head record per friend, per game. It never resets.
  • Made by a one-person studio in London. Last updated October 2026.
